Meet our engineers Apprentice engineer

Harvey Hudson

Net Zero Navigator

I love being outside and I want to help preserve our environment. I'm an apprentice helping companies reduce the amount of carbon they emit so they can hit their net zero targets.

What is your current role?

I am a building services engineering apprentice at Vital Energi.

I work with businesses to reduce the amount of carbon they emit so they can hit their net zero targets. I help devise low carbon energy solutions using renewable technologies like solar panels and heat pumps, and energy efficiency measures such as LED lights.

I'm an apprentice so I spend time in different departments within the company to gain a good understanding of how a project is delivered, from winning the job and designing the scheme, to the on-site delivery, and everything in between.

What made you choose an apprenticeship?

I love the 'hands-on' learning approach of my apprenticeship. I learn practical skills at work, and learn the theory at college.

This way, I get a really good understanding of the industry from working alongside experts, and valuable workplace skills.
